These records contain publications from the College of Engineering; individual departments, units, and program bulletins; and departmental and unit publications, reprints, and newsletters. Academic study in engineering dates back to the founding of the university, with a course in "Mechanic Arts" offered during 1889. In 1923, both the School of Engineering and the Engineering Experiment Station were founded. The Experiment Station would later be renamed the Engineering Research Services Division. In 1987 the School was renamed the College of Engineering.
