Alfred Alexander Dixon (1885-1939) was a native of Alamance County, North Carolina. He served as a professor of Physics at North Carolina State College from 1917 to 1939. Dixon received a B.S. from Guilford College in 1909, an M.A. from Haverford College in 1911, and a Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1930. His wife was the former Inez Wilson.
