Photocopies of special orders no. 79 and 106 issued to soldiers in 1944 granting them furloughs, a photograph of soldiers, a photograph of an ASTP (Army Specialized Training Program) reunion in 1993, and a microcassette recording, 1994. Philip Sine served in World War II. He reported for duty to the Commanding Officer, SCU 3421, ASTP at the North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering, Raleigh, North Carolina.

Unit 3900 of the Army Specialized Training Program (ASTP) was established by the War Department at Oregon State College in March 1943. The program provided training for high grade technicians and specialists needed by the Army for the war effort. Most of the instruction was provided by regular Oregon State College faculty; E.B.
