Cynthia Ozick (1928- )is a novelist, short story writer, essayist, and critic. The collection contains letters written by Cynthia Ozick to writers and academics, 1968-1980. Included is a letter to Nolan Miller of concerning Ozick's rewriting of her review of Lore Segal's ; a letter to Professor Ben Belitt regarding Jewish scripture and comments he made regarding Ozick's identifying herself as a ; and letters to poet, novelist, and critic Richard Elman that document their relationship and range from supportive communications to disagreements about Jewish identity and issues of privilege.
