Hugh Walpole Papers, 1925-1933

The collection includes 33 letters, 1925-1933, to the writer Bruce Beddow, 32 of which were written by English novelist Sir Henry Walpole; a ten-page handwritten essay, by Walpole; and two questionnaires from 1929 submitted by Beddow and completed by Walpole about Walpole's life, work, and literary opinions. The letters briefly discuss book advertising, publishing, and critics, but refer mainly to Beddow's efforts as a novelist, analysis of Beddow's novels, Walpole's own works, and an unpublished biography on Walpole by Beddow.
