Margaret Ida Neville Stafford (1884-1969) worked as a private duty registered nurse around Burlington, N.C. The day book records her nursing assignments, 1915-1918. Each entry includes the patient's name, medical diagnosis and outcome, attending physician, the amount of time that Stafford spent caring for the patient, and her fee. A brief biographical sketch and family history of Margaret Ida Neville Stafford that was written in 2003 by Frances A. Campbell, Stafford's great-niece, is also included.

After receiving a nursing degree from the Women's Medical College in Philadelphia, Pa., she was employed around Burlington, N.C., as a private duty registered nurse. She married John Everett Stafford, a widower with children, at some point in the 1920s and subsequently stopped working as a nurse. She died in 1969.
