After receiving a nursing degree from the Women's Medical College in Philadelphia, Pa., she was employed around Burlington, N.C., as a private duty registered nurse. She married John Everett Stafford, a widower with children, at some point in the 1920s and subsequently stopped working as a nurse. She died in 1969.
