Jane Simpson McKimmon Papers, . 1894-1919

Jane Simpson McKimmon was the first home demonstration agent for the state of North Carolina, and an author of Raleigh, N.C. The collection contians family correspondence of McKimmon, primarily during World War I, including letters from her to her sons, written at Raleigh, N.C.; and letters from her son, William S. McKimmon, about training and war experiences at aviation school at the Georgia School of Technology, at Park Field, Memphis, Tenn., and in France. Also included are scattered letters from other sons at Ensley, Ala., Chapel Hill, N.C., and Plattsburg, N.Y., and four letters in Braille to John A. Simpson at the Institute for the Deaf, Dumb, and Blind, Raleigh, N.C.
