Art and architectural historian M. Ruth Little of Raleigh, N.C., was the principal investigator on the NEH-funded North Carolina Cemetery as Cultural Artifact Project, 1981-1982, directed by Terry Zug of the Curriculum in Folklore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
