Theodore William "Doc" Daniel was born November 16, 1907, in San Francisco to John and Margaret Daniel. Daniel Studied at the University of California, Berkeley, where he received a B.S. in Forest Management and Range Management in 1934, an M.S. in Forest Management in 1936 and a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology in 1942.
