Susan Sunada was born in Utah, the daughter of Japanese-American pioneers. A graduate of Los Angeles City College, Susan worked as a photojournalist for the Deseret News in the 1960s and 1970s and was presented with an "Outstanding Correspondent" award. She was the writer, producer, and directer for Logan's Bicentennial Celebration ice show and has represented Japanese and Chinese pioneers in the Cache Valley's "Festival of the American West" for numerous years.
