The West Bank Union at the University of Minnesota was established in 1967 to offer services to students. Edmund Griffith (E.G.) Williamson was born on August 14, 1900 in Rossville, Illinois. He received a B.A. degree from the University of Illinois in 1925 and his Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1931. Dr. Williamson joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota in 1931 as assistant professor of psychology and director of the testing and counseling bureau (1931-1938).
