Al LaMagna was born in Enna, Sicily. He has served the Order Sons of Italy in America as a member of the National Council, Supreme Trustee (1979-1983), and State Trustee of the Pennsylvania Grand Lodge (1965-1971, 1973-1979). He and his father were members of the Nuova Vittorio Emanuele II Lodge No. 901 (Pittsburgh, Pa.).
