Robert G. Busse attended the University of Newark (Rutgers University), graduating in 1938 with a degree in accounting and business administration. He was hired as a salesman for Burroughs Adding Machine Company New York division in 1938. He transferred to the Bridgeport, Connecticut staff in 1945 and was appointed as zone supervisor of the Boston branch in 1948.
