An American violinist, Yehudi Menuhin was engaged in 1947 by Two Continent Pictures to appear and play in a projected moving picture named Delirium and an associated short movie; and later for a series of short films. He suggested changes in the script and performed the Mendelssohn Concerto for Delirium, but the picture apparently was not completed, nor were the short films although 22 reels were recorded and photographed. The English poet, playwright and novelist John Masefield was born in 1878 in Ledbury. After running away to sea early (when he was thirteen) he settled in London from 1897 and devoted himself to writing.
