Part 1, shows competition in the 100-meter dash, women's discus throw, high and broad jumps, shotput, 400-meter hurdles, and 50-kilometer walk at the Olympic Games in Helsinki. Part 2 shows activities at the Dem. convention: Harriman and Russell announce their withdrawal from the race. Kefauver's attempt to withdraw is not recognized as Speaker Rayburn announces the Stevenson victory and delegates rejoice. Stevenson speaks to newsmen at his home, is escorted to the rostrum in Convention Hall by Pres. Truman, and accepts the nomination, stating that the American people should be told they face trying times. Part 3 is a trailer in which Humphrey Bogart advises the purchase of "E" bonds.
