Ridgway and Japanese Premier Yoshida, and enplanes for the U.S. Part 2, President Truman defends his foreign policy at a Jefferson-Jackson Day dinner. Part 3, the battleship Missouri, returning from Korean duty, docks in Los Angeles' harbor. Part 4, Gen. Eisenhower observes British and French tanks, assigned to NATO, maneuvering in Germany. Part 5, swimmers compete in Houston, Texas, and Beverly Hills, California.

General Matthew Bunker Ridgway (March 3, 1895 – July 26, 1993) was a senior officer in the United States Army, who served as Supreme Allied Commander Europe (1952–1953) and the 19th Chief of Staff of the United States Army (1953–1955).
