On "Operation-Crossroads," the atomic bomb test at Bikini atoll. A B-29 plane, "Dave's Dream" takes off from a base on Kwajalein. Shows the test fleet. Goats and pigs to be used in the test are smeared with ointment. Adm. Blandy and Sec. Forrestal stand on the bridge of the flagship McKinley. Shows the atomic bomb blast, the target ship Nevada, the target ships afire after the blast, and bomb damage to the submarine Skate, the cruiser Prinz Eugene, the Japanese cruiser Sakawa, and the cruiser Pensacola. Samples of ocean water are tested with geiger counters for radioactivity. Adm. Blandy and Sec. Forrestal go aboard target ships to inspect the damage.
