Part 1, planes take off from and land on a floating airstrip used by the British. Part 2, the Duke of Windsor deplanes in London and visits Queen-Mother Mary. Part 3 shows private planes on sale in a New York City store and being flight demonstrated. Part 4, Pierre Laval is sentenced to death for treason by a French tribunal in Paris. Part 5, Navy Task Force 62, led by the carrier Enterprise and the battleships Texas and Nevada steams into N.Y.C. harbor. Flashbacks show the ships passing through the Panama Canal. The Third Fleet enters San Francisco harbor. Gov. Warren boards the flagship South Dakota to greet Adm. Halsey. other units of the fleet arrive in Los Angeles.
