Flashbacks show Hitler with his staff. Russians rebuild Stalingrad ruins. Russian artillery and rocket launchers fire and tanks and infantry advance under cover of Russian fighter bombers. Shows German dead. German prisoners are marched to the rear. Rommel confers with his staff at El Alamein. U.S. troops advance in Italy; Gen. Clark deplanes at the front; Allied Military Government officials receive job applications from Italians in Naples. Part 4, Allied carrier planes raid Japanese ships at Wake Island. Part 5, B-17s bomb Schweinfurt, Germany; escorting P-47 planes engage German FW-190s; a damaged B-17 bomber crash lands in England.
