Part 3, allied artillery shells Japanese position on Guadalcanal, supplies are unloaded from Coast Guard boats, Adm. Fitch and Marine Gen. Geiger confer, and Marines are baptized by a chaplain in the Lunga River. Part 4, a bust of Pres. Roosevelt is unveiled in New York City. Shows Mayor LaGuardia. Part 5, Eddie Rickenbacker receives an award from the Boy Scouts. Part 6, the liberty ship Lou Gehrig is christened. Part 7, the aircraft carrier Hornet is hit while fighting off attacking Japanese planes, is taken in tow by a cruiser, wounded are transferred to another ship, and the Hornet is abandoned. Part 8 is a trailer on labor and housing.
