On Floyd Bennett and Adm. Byrd's flight to Europe. Part 1 (Kinograms), the Fokker plane, the America, is tested in aerial acrobatics. Bennett and Byrd pose and the plane takes off. Part 2 (Paramount News), the America lands in the water off Versurmer, France, and the flyers float to shore on a life raft. Shows parades in St. Nazaire and Paris; Byrd meeting the aviators Bleriot and Chamberlin in Paris; and a parade in New York City.

Rear Admiral Richard Evelyn Byrd Jr. (October 25, 1888 – March 11, 1957) was an American naval officer and explorer. He was a recipient of the Medal of Honor, the highest honor for valor given by the United States, and was a pioneering American aviator, polar explorer, and organizer of polar logistics.
