VG 13) MCU 3/4 front view of an F-8E making an arrested landing, leaving the scene to the R, yellow shirt gives hand signals, part of the wing of the a/c is seen moving back, slack is taken; PAN to the R, the F-8E making a sharp R turn folding its wings, yellow shirt in FG gives direction for the plane to move off to the L. VG 14) LS An F- 8E making a touch-and-go, leaves the scene to the R. G 15) LS Looking on the flight deck, some personnel seen in L BG; F-8E makes a touch-and-go, yellow shirt in FG swings around and watches the a/c on take-off; PAN back to L another F-8E makes a wave-off coming very close to the flight deck, leaves the scene to the R. VG 16) MLS F-8E making an arrested landing, rolling to a stop to the R, set off to the L folding its wings, one of the yellow shirts walks in the FG. VG 17) MS The Cat Officer giving the signal for the F-8E on #1 catapult to launch; green shirt standing in FG with a camera; signal is given F-8E leaves a tail away view of the a/c, catapult crew move in around the catapult in BG amongst the steam. VG 18) MS 3/4 front view of an F-8E on #1 catapult, Cat Officer seen off to the R BG gives a rev up, part of the island in R BG, launch signal is given plane leaves the scene to the L, catapult crew advances in towards the catapult zoom towards the forward section of the island showing the guests up in the island. G to F 19) MS 3/4 front view of an F-8E on #1 catapult head of the island, launch signal is given by the Cat Officer to the R, plane leaves the scene to the L; UH- 2B helicopter is seen in flight in L far BG, called "The Angel" by the ships crew, helicopter is on its flight station; catapult crew moving in around the catapult ready for the next a/c. G 20) MS The Cat Officer giving a rev up signal, white shirt and a green shirt in L FG, their hands raised; F-8E takes off with after burner, seen in flight in far BG. G 21) CU Green shirts in the FG, F-8E in mid BG on the catapult, plane is launched; PAN to L a/c then leaves scene to L on take off. 22) LS A-4E making an arrested landing, catching the wire, rolls back slightly, yellow shirt walks into the scene, plane is given signals to taxi off to the L. VG 23) LS Front view of an A-4E coming in for landing over the deck, touches down, makes a touch- and-go, leaves the scene to the R, yellow shirt in mid BG. 24) LS Front view of an A-4E making an arrested landing, rolls to a stop, releases the brakes, arresting wire is released, plane swings around to the R, taxis off to the L. G 25) CU Several blue shirts situated in the center of the deck; zoom back away from the men, A-4E on #1 catapult in BG, green shirts in L BG, plane is launched; PAN to the L showing a/c leaving the deck; zoom in towards the tail away of the A-4E in flight after it is launched. SV VG 26) MCU 3/4 front view, A-1H unfolding its wings on #1 catapult, green shirts seen in FG; zoom back away from the men, yellow shirts in L BG, both yellow shirts and green shirts spread out over the deck area, island seen in BG, plane taxis forward, yellow shirt directs the a/c forward onto the catapult, Cat Officer moves in the mid FG his back to the camera; the "Angels" in flight in far BG, flying to the L and out of the scene; Cat Officer gives the signal for the pilot, then gives a rev up with his L hand, A-1H revs up, Cat Officers hand drops, plane is launched out of the scene to the L. James Harold "Jimmy" Doolittle (December 14, 1896 – September 27, 1993) was an American military general and aviation pioneer who received the Medal of Honor for his daring raids on Japan during World War II. He also made early coast-to-coast flights, won many flying races, and helped develop instrument flying.
