1) MCU PAN To the L of LTGEN JAMES H. DOOLITTLE and his "Raiders" seated at the table in the wardroom during the Press Conference; PAN to the L showing RADM H.L. Miller, USN Chief of Information also Honorary Raider; (RADM was a LT during WWII and taught DOOLITTLE and his "Raiders" how to fly off a carrier); camera stays on RADM MILLER s he reads his speech, RADM takes off his glasses continues talking to the group which is out of the scene to the R; ADM then sits down at the end of the table next to one of the "Raiders" in his Air Force blue uniform, three undt. civilians are standing in BG; PAN off to the L to a curtain being opened up unveiling a bronze plaque in commemoration of GEN DOOLITTLE and his "Raiders"; zoom in for a ECU, some of the lettering reads "Take Off No. 1-Bail Out, China, LT COL JAMES H. DOOLITTLE, LT RICHARD E. COLE, LT HENRY, 18 April 1942"; zoom back away from the beautiful bronze plaque shows many more names in small squares, crews of the various a/c which took off from the USS HORNETT (CVS-12) during the raid over Japan; CAPT walks by in FG out of the scene to the R, camera stays on the plaque; slow PAN to the R back to the "Doolittle Raiders" with LTGEN DOOLITTLE seated in the center section of the table speaking before a small battery of mikes during the Press Conference, several of the "Raiders" are still in uniform, others in civilian attire as is GEN DOOLITTLE; zoom in for CU of LT GEN DOOLITTLE, Ret., LTGEN DOOLITTLE moves back in his seat, Air Force Officer to the L FG wearing many medals and his campaign bars begins talking into the mikes as GEN DOOLITTLE listens on to the R; zoom back away showing the rank on the R shoulder of Air Force Officer, a full COL; zoom further back showing the USS ORISKANY (CVA-34) insignia framed in the BG; movie camera framed in L FG in operation as the Air Force COL holds up a map in blue and yellow of the Japanese Islands and the shoreline of China framed in a wooden frame; man walks directly in front of camera blocking the view and accepts the framed map, camera stays on LTGEN DOOLITTLE and the COL, two others seen in R BG, Air Force Officer seen to the L over the top of the movie camera in the L FG; cups are upside down on the saucers on the table in preparation for coffee break later on; zoom back in for a CU of a COL in uniform giving his remarks; LTGEN DOOLITTLE, Ret., looking on intently, one of the other "Raiders" in civilian clothes is off to the R, COL completes his remarks leans back in his chair; PAN off to the lower R FG; PAN back off to the R on past LTGEN DOOLITTLE to the three "Raiders" now in civilian clothing; PAN slowly back to the COL and LTGEN DOOLITTLE, Ret.; COL folds his arms, unfolds his arms picks up a typed sheet of paper places it in his inner coat pocket, LTGEN DOOLITTLE then begins to give some more remarks into the three microphones situated on the table; zoom in for a ECU of face of LT GEN DOOLITTLE, camera holds for a few seconds; zoom back away from LTGEN DOOLITTLE and many of the "Raiders," some now standing behind LTGEN DOOLITTLE, some officers behind LTGEN DOOLITTLE are in uniform still in the service; movie camera is framed in L extreme FG, lens pointed toward LTGEN DOOLITTLE who is talking near the microphone; zoom back in towards LTGEN DOOLITTLE, turns around makes a remark to the COL at his R; COL leans over begins talking into the mikes, two of the other "Raiders" standing behind LTGEN DOOLITTLE and the COL. James Harold "Jimmy" Doolittle (December 14, 1896 – September 27, 1993) was an American military general and aviation pioneer who received the Medal of Honor for his daring raids on Japan during World War II.
