Arleigh Albert Burke, U.S. Naval Officer, was born near Boulder, Colorado on 19 October, 1901. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 1923 and served in the Navy until his retirement in 1961. James Woodrow Kelly was born December 24, 1913, in Carthage, Arkansas.
