1) HA MS Looking over the heads of the troops in formation in the FG, as the caisson takes position at the entrance to the cemetary; Lincoln Memorial in the far BG; PAN to right over the heads of the troops in formation, as the caisson comes to a halt. G2) HA LS The funeral procession coming over the Memorial Bridge, escorted by a group of motorcycle police. G3) HA MS The motorcycle escort turns off to the road, moving out of the frame to the right, as a long line of sedans in the procession continue down the center of the highway, and move off one at a time. G4) HA MLS A caisson standing at a position; troops in the FG; the hearse backing up to the rear of the caisson for body transfer. G5) HA MS A long line of automobiles crossing the bridge to the entrance of the cemetary; the hearse moving past the troops; PAN to right to the caisson, as the hearse pulls alongside and comes to a stop; large crowd in the BG. G6) HA LS Looking out over the heads of the various units of troops, as the body is being transferred from the hearse to the caisson. G7) HA MLS The Pallbearers (men of the various military branches) marched up behind the hearse; the Pallbearers moving the casket from the hearse, one man stands with a five star flag (the rank of ADM. WILLIAM HALSEY); Pallbearers walk slowly with the casket toward the rear of the caisson, as the officers in the FG in command of the units stand at the salute; flag drapped casket is picked up and placed in the rear of the caisson. G8) HA MLS The casket in place on the caisson; troops in the FG come to parade rest; looking out over the heads of the various companjes of troops as they move out from their positions, marching into the cemetary gate ahead of the caisson; the caisson stands at a stand still outside the gate; the last company of Naval personnel marches into the gate. G9) HA MS The caisson goes through the gate, as the pallbearers walk alongside the caisson; the caisson then passes through the gate entrance to the cemetary, Arlington, Virginia.10) HA MLS An R4Y taxiing along the runway after landing with ADM. HALSEY"s body at NAS, Anacostia; the plane passes by the Honor Guard standing on the edge of the runway in the FG; plane comes to a stop in front of the Honor Guard; the sideboys move into pesition at the near of the aircraft, as the Color Guards move up into position. G11) HA MS The sideboys stand at parade rent, as the body of ADM. HALSEY is removed from the plane; the sideboys come to attention.12) HA MS The family and friends of the ADM. walk from the aircraft, past the rear of the hearse; two officers have black bands on their left sleeves; PAN to left showing other officers with black bands.13) HA MS The Honor Guard comes to attention; brings their rif les to present arms; Color Guard holds the ensign in the BG, as one man holds a five star flag; Color Guard passes between the two ranks of Honor Guard, followed by a Chaplain, one navy man carries a five star flag, followed by the pallbearers, and the casket; officers and men in the FG stand at the salute, as the Color Guard walks up behind off to the side of the hearse. G14) HA MS The pallbearers carry the casket between the ranks of Honor Guard; the pallbearers place the casket in the rear of the hearse. G15) HA MLS Looking out over the crowd of Honor Guard, spectators, the band; the Color Guards and pallbearers walk pass a group of sedans. G16) HA MS The band comes to attention as the hearse moves out past the far side of the musicians; hearse moves along behind the official cars as the leave NAS. G17) MS The men lowering the flag to half ; the R4Y, taxies in the BG.18) MLS The saluting battery fires a salute to ADM. HALSEY. G19) MCU The hearse moves down the road toward the entrance to the NAS as they prepare to leave. G20) LA MS The five star flag being lowered by the man at the base of the pole in front of the Administration Building, at NAS. G

William Frederick Halsey Jr. (October 30, 1882 – August 16, 1959) was a fleet admiral in the United States Navy during World War II. He was called "Bill" by his family and friends and nicknamed "Bull" by the press. He is one of four individuals to have attained the rank of fleet admiral of the United States Navy, the others being Ernest King, William Leahy, and Chester W. Nimitz.
