Lawson Harry McPherson Sanderson (b. July 22, 1895, Shelton, Wash.-d. June 11, 1979), Major General in the U.S. Marine Corps, was commissioned in the Marine Corps in 1917 following graduation from college. He served in England and France during World War I and also in Haiti, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and China. He was an aviator beginning in 1917 and a pioneer in dive bombing.
