Lady Bird Johnson was born Claudia Alta Taylor in Karnack, Texas on December 22, 1912. Her parents were Thomas Jefferson Taylor and Minnie Pattillo Taylor, and she had two older brothers, Tommy and Tony. Her mother died when she was only five years old, and her Aunt Effie Pattillo moved to Karnack to look after her. Nguyãen Cao Ky was born on September 8, 1930 in Son Tay, Vietnam. He was flight trained by the French, and returned to Vietnam in 1954 to hold a series of commands in the South Vietnamese air force. He was involved in the overthrow of President Diem, and was later appointed to the air force command.
