Lyman Louis Lemnitzer (August 29, 1899 – November 12, 1988) was born in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. He received his commission in the Coast Artillery Corps from West Point in 1920 and was an instructor at West Point from 1926 to 1930, and again in 1934 and 1935. Thomas Dresser White (b. Aug. 6, 1901, Walker, Minn.-d. Dec. 22, 1965), U.S. Air Force officer, received his commission in the infantry in 1920.
