This is a transcript of an oral history interview with Charles R. Broshous. The interview began with Broshous' early military career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and as an instructor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. The remainder of the interview concentrated on his service in Europe during World War II. Major subjects included his military duties in England, racial problems in England during the war, and planning for D-Day and the Normandy Invasion. He also discussed the "Red Ball Express" convoy effort to supply the Allied armies moving through Europe. Military commanders mentioned in the interview include Sir Bernard Law Montgomery, Thomas B.
