John Foster Dulles Papers. 1950 - 1959. Appointment Schedules Files

1950-1959

This series consists of daily calendars normally with handwritten entries, occasional addresses and other sketchy information and files entitled Notes. These "Notes" files include typed trip schedules, trip diaries, ceremony schedules, lists of future engagements, lists of Secretary Dulles' appearances before Congressional committees or bi-partisan Congressional meetings, and occasional briefing papers such as a summary of the Organization for Trade Cooperation in 1955 and biographical data on Iranian officials prepared in conjunction with Dulles' trip to Tehran, Iran January 24-26, 1958. There are gaps in the coverage as many calendar pages are blank. One notable omission is the lack of entries recording Secretary Dulles' appointments during the 1952 campaign.
