Gerald Rudolph Ford, the 38th President of the United States, was born Leslie Lynch King, Jr., the son of Leslie Lynch King and Dorothy Ayer Gardner King, on July 14, 1913, in Omaha, Nebraska. His parents separated two weeks after his birth, and his mother took him to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to live with her parents. Guinevere (Gwen) Adele Anderson was born on June 3, 1930 in Lignite, North Dakota. In 1968 she was the Office Manager for the Nixon for President Committee in Seattle, Washington, and from 1968 to 1972 she was Vice Chairman and Acting Chairman of the Washington State Republican Central Committee. From 1971 to 1972 she also owned and managed Val-Mar Employment Service in Richland, Washington.
