This film, produced by Columbia Pictures for the U.S. Treasury Department, uses brief clips from director John Ford's 1955 film "The Long Gray Line" as an inspirational prologue to a plea for the purchase of Savings Bonds. The film was based on the life of Marty Maher, an Irish immigrant who, after entering the West Point Academy, went on to serve the rest of his life as a leader and teacher there. Appearing in both the original film clips and the savings bond promotion are the stars of the Ford film: Tyrone Power, Maureen O'Hara, Donald Crisp, and William Leslie.
