This series consists of the contents of Marie Peary Kuhne's three photograph albums, which were subsequently disassembled by staff at the National Archives after their donation in 1971. Marie Peary Kuhne was the daughter of Robert E. Peary. Album 1 consists mainly of portraits of Mrs. Kuhne, from her childhood to about 1930. Album 2 consists of views of her taken in Greenland in 1900-1901. Album 3 consists of views taken in 1911 on Eagle Island, Maine, the Peary family's home. Included in the third album are views of Mrs. Kuhne, her parents, and her children. Five of the photographs in this series contain corresponding original negatives.

Robert Edwin Peary Sr. (born May 6, 1856, Cresson, Pennsylvania – died February 20, 1920, Washington, D.C.) was an American explorer and United States Navy officer who made several expeditions to the Arctic in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
