This film shows members of a war memorial inspection tour as they visited cemeteries and monuments throughout Europe. Cemeteries and memorials visited include the: Rhone American Cemetery and Memorial, Mont Valerien French War Memorial, Oise-Aisne American Cemetery and Memorial, Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Epinal American Cemetery and Memorial, Montsec Monument, St. Mihiel American Cemetery and Memorial, Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial, Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial, Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, Flanders Field American Cemetery and Memorial, and Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial. Pointe du Hoc in Normandy and the Monument of the Unknown Soldier in Brussels, Belgium are also seen. The film shows the graves of Quentin Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt Jr., and George Patton Jr.

Mark Wayne Clark (1896-1984) was born in Madison Barracks, New York. After he graduated from West Point in 1917, he commissioned in the infantry. During World War I, he became wounded in combat while commanding a battalion in France. He served with the War Department General Staff from 1921 to 1924. He graduated from the Command and General Staff School in 1935 and the Army War College two years later. Between 1940 and 1942, he served at General Headquarters and then Army Ground Forces.
