Part l, U. S. troops liberate Manila. Shows the city in flames. U.S. infantry advance; tank guns and bazookas are fired. Filipino and U.S. troops enter the city; civilians cheer. Civilians run for cover as Japanese snipers open fire. Troops advance through smoking ruins. Filipino collaborationist are lined up against a wall. U.S. wounded are carried to the rear. General MacArthur inspects areas in the captured city. Part 2, shows street fighting in Cologne, German U.S. machine gunners and snipers advance through the ruins. Tank guns are fired. U.S. tanks, ambulances, and infantry cross the Remagen bridge. Shows German POW's.

General of the Army Douglas MacArthur (26 January 1880 – 5 April 1964) was an American five-star general and Field Marshal of the Philippine Army. He was Chief of Staff of the United States Army during the 1930s and played a prominent role in the Pacific theater during World War II. He received the Medal of Honor for his service in the Philippines campaign, which made him and his father Arthur MacArthur Jr. the first father and son to be awarded the medal.
