Reel 1, French Foreign Legion troops and Spahis (Arab cavalry) pass in review at Sidi-bel-Abbes, Algeria. Gens. Mark Clark and Kenneth Anderson, Brit. Adm. Andrew Cunningham, and French Adm. Darlan review U.S. troops at Algiers. Tanks are loaded on LCT's at Algiers, escorted to Bone, Algeria, by British destroyers, and unloaded. Nazi planes bomb and strafe the harbor and the town. P-38's and Spitfires battle German planes. Reel 2, the air battle continues through the night. Tanks roll through Bone, across the desert, and up roads in the Atlas Mountains toward Tunisia. C-47 transport planes fly overhead. The tank convoy bivouacs for the night. Arabs sell chickens to U.S. troops. Reel 3, the tanks cross the Tunisian border. Nazi planes bomb an airport at Souk-el-Aba. Fires rage in a gasoline dump. Casualties are loaded into armored ambulances. C-47's land with supplies. Shows Thanksgiving Day preparations and captured Italian paratroops. Reel 4, Allied tanks deploy near Tebourba. Scout cars and halftracks move up. P-38's circle overhead. Allied field guns and antitank guns exchange fire with German Mark IV tanks. Nazi tanks retreat. German prisoners are collected. Shows destroyed Nazi equipment and enemy dead.
