Reel 2 (Hearst Metrotone News), Sec. of War Knox, Gens. Drum and Powell, and Adm. Watson review the 78th Div. at Fort Dix, N.J. Reel 3 (Universal Newsreel), the 3rd Div. demonstrates massed calisthenics, runs through obstacle courses, and passes in review at Fort Lewis, Wash. Reel 4 (Universal Newsreel), the 31st Div. fights a sham battle as troops occupy a "town" constructed at Camp Blanding, Fla. Smoke grenades are thrown and barbed wire cut as troops advance down the main street.

William Dan Powell (b. Nov. 11, 1893, Kansas City, Missouri-d. Oct. 6, 1943, China), Brigadier General in the U.S. Army, graduated from college in 1916 and was commissioned in the infantry the following year. Hugh Aloysius Drum (1879-1951) was born at Fort Brady, Michigan. He commissioned from the ranks in the infantry in 1898. He graduated from the Army Staff College in 1912. During World War I, he served as deputy chief of staff, then chief of staff of First Army, temporarily holding the rank of brigadier general in 1918.
