Thomas Dresser White (b. Aug. 6, 1901, Walker, Minn.-d. Dec. 22, 1965), U.S. Air Force officer, received his commission in the infantry in 1920. Robert Whitney Burns (1908-1964) was born in Stanley, Wisconsin. Following two years at the University of Wisconsin, he entered the Army Air Corps for aviation cadet training at March Field, California, in October 1928.
