R Adm Wesley McClaren Hague, Commandant of the Industrial College, congratulates the 1952 class and terms the collage as "unique in the annals of education" because of its studies of all facets of political and economic mobilization. He prepares to introduce the principal speaker, Deputy Secy of Defense, William C. Foster. Foster further congratulates the graduates. He says that a third World War has been successfully avoided because NATO has deterred overt enemy action. In welcoming the graduates "with open arms" he links them with a plan for industrial expansion capable of conversion for all out war without strain on the civilian economy. He speaks of the wisdom of helping out allies to create strong defensive forces and of providing hope for those behind the Iron Curtain. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine graduates appear as their names are called to receive diplomas presented by Chief of Staff, Gen J. Lawton Collins. They are congratulated by others including Foster; Hague; Brig Gen L.E. Rea, USMC; Maj Gen E.S. Wetsel USAF; R. Adm M Royar, USN; Asst Secy Army Fred Korth and Chaplain Brig Gen. A.F. Gearhard, USAF.

Wesley McLaren Hague was born May 2, 1897, in Chicago, Ill.
