Students go to classes, cut wood, dig gravel, erect hangars to house lecture halls, and operate the school laundry. Gen. Rees greets Congressmen S.H. Dent, W.J. Fields, S.J. Nicholls, B.P. Harrison, C.P. Caldwell, D.R. Athons, W.S. Green, J.S. Crage, and H.E. Hull. Reel 2, delegates arrive for an educational conference at Beaune. Shows students at classes and on parade. Sec. of War Baker and Gen. Pershing inspect classrooms and address students. Students sightsee in Beaune. Shows the Univ. of Beaune agricultural bldgs. at Allerey. Students saddle and shoe horses, judge livestock, use tractors, and listen to Sec. Baker. Reel 3, soldiers sketch sculptor, and paint at the Sorbonne Univ. Sculptor Alfred Finot works in a Nancy studio. Shows drafting classes at the American Art Center in Bellevue. Students visit the Church of Notre Dame. Reel 4 shows street scenes in Nancy and the campuses of the Universities of Nancy and Besancon. Besancon students attend classes. Shows campus scenes of the Univ. of Dijon and street scenes in Dijon. The Congressional delegation visits the school.

Newton Diehl Baker Jr. (December 3, 1871 – December 25, 1937) was an American lawyer, Georgist, politician, and government official. He served as the 37th mayor of Cleveland, Ohio from 1912 to 1915. As U.S. Secretary of War from 1916 to 1921, Baker presided over the United States Army during World War I. Career Army officer who served in the Philippines as an adjutant general and engineer officer, collector of customs, and cavalry squadron commander, participating in actions against the Tausug (Moros), 1899-1903; later apppointed governor of Moro Province and commander, Department of Mindanao, 1909-1913.
