Clarence Ransom Edwards (b. Jan. 1, 1860, Cleveland, Ohio-d. Feb. 14, 1931), U.S. Army officer, graduated from West Point in 1883. He served in the Philippines, commanded the 6th Brigade, 2nd Division in Hawaii, and commanded troops in the Panama Canal Zone from 1915 to 1917. He organized the 26th Division and spent ten months commanding it on the front lines in France in 1917 and 1918. William Edward Cole (1874-1953) was born in Willard, Utah. He graduated from West Point in 1899 and served with the Artillery in the Canal Zone from 1914-1917.
