Reel 1, Part 1 shows how seeing eye dogs lead blind men at the Hazel Hurst Foundation in California and at an airplane plant. Shows blind men working in the plant. Part 2, soldiers test clothing and equipment under simulated arctic and tropical conditions. Items include tanks, masks, and sleeping bags. Part 3, machine tool parts are made in a factory-garage in Connecticut. Sec. Forrestal awards an Army-Navy "E" to the owner. Part 3 (Reel 2), soldiers land and fight on Attu after a naval barrage. Shows dead Japanese and wounded Americans. Part 4 shows training and recreation of the 1st Filipino Infantry Regiment in the U.S. The soldiers receive bolo knives at graduation.

James Vincent Forrestal (February 15, 1892 – May 22, 1949) was the last Cabinet-level United States Secretary of the Navy and the first United States Secretary of Defense. Forrestal came from a very strict middle class Irish Catholic family. He was a successful financier on Wall Street before becoming Undersecretary of the Navy in 1940, shortly before the United States entered the Second World War.
