Shows activities of a civil affairs team on Okinawa. Reel 1, the team lands with the 3rd Amphibious Corps of the Marines. Okinawans are evacuated from battle zones, interviewed, and given food and medical care. Emphasizes that civilians are not pampered nor maintained at government expense. Reel 2, a saw mill and sugar mill are set up by the natives. U.S. troops rout Japanese soldiers. Civilians build their quarters, harvest food, and perform other tasks. Adm. Nimitz inspects the colony. Urges the purchase of war bonds to speed the return home of U.S. troops.
