Harry Salter (1899-1984) was a musician and orchestra leader from the 1920s through the 1960s. Salter was the creator and musical director for the television and radio show “Stop the Music” (1949-1956) and the producer and conductor of the television show “Name That Tune” (1953-1959). “Stop the Music” was emceed by Bert Parks, and the music was played by the Harry Salter Orchestra.
