Charles F. Lummis (1859-1928) was born in Lynn, Massachusettts. He became an editor for the Los Angeles Times on February 1, 1884, working for Harrison Gray Otis. Ina Sizer Cassidy, a prominent member of the community, was born in1869 on a ranch in Colorado. She moved to Santa Fe in January 1912 where she died in 1965. She was the wife of painter Gerald Cassidy.
