Carl C. Eckhardt Collection 1892-1945 1926-1945

Carl C. Eckhardt was a member of the University of Colorado History Department faculty from 1911-1945. During this time, he served on the University’s Arts and Sciences Committee on Self Survey, as well as the Faculty Senate Committee on Minorities. He was also a member of several professional organizations outside of the University, including the Colorado-Wyoming Social Science Association. The collection contains correspondence, government documents, lecture and research notes, pamphlets, leaflets, circulars, and newspaper clippings relating to various political and professional organizations.

Born in Toledo, Ohio, September 6, 1878, Carl Conrad Eckhardt received his B.A. degree from Ohio State University in 1902, when he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to earn his M.A. degree from the University of Michigan in 1904 and his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1908.
