Records of the Boulder Valley League of Women Voters 1932-1990's

Records documenting the activities of the Boulder Valley League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan, nongovernmental organization promoting citizen awareness and voter participation. Organized by Carrie Chapman Catt at the victory convention celebrating the attainment of women’s suffrage in 1920, the National League worked to promote a greater understanding of election and governmental processes and to study issues of concern to all citizens, and communities. Originally called the Boulder chapter of the “Women’s Citizens League of Colorado,” the Boulder branch of the League of Women Voters was formed in 1931, promoting education and participation in governmental processes, and conducting studies of local, regional and national concerns. The collections contain minutes, correspondence, bylaws, newspaper clippings, publications, and studies conducted between the 1930’2 and the 1990’s.
