William Edward Steuk immigrated with his family to America from Prussia in 1853 finding his way to Sandusky. When he arrived in Sandusky he opened a market and a clothing business. When the business was unsuccessful he decided to try raising grape roots. With success of this new business, he started a winery and began producing native wines.
