Cleveland Shopping News Company Records 1922-1950

The Cleveland Shopping News Company was a newspaper company founded in 1921, by a group of downtown department stores, to secure lower advertising rates by competing with the daily newspapers. It ceased operations in 1972. The collection consists of two bound volumes containing A General Management Survey of the Cleveland Shopping News Company, dated Dec. 6, 1950, prepared by Cresap, McCormick and Paget, management engineers, to determine the feasibility of continued publication of the Cleveland Shopping News, and financial records, consisting of incomplete accounts of the company.
