Louis S. Auchincloss Papers 1970-1972

This collection consists of four drafts of "I Come As A Thief", a novel by Louis S. Auchincloss, depicting the rise and fall of a privileged Wall Street attorney. It was published in 1972. The first draft is written in pencil on 128 yellow legal size sheets of paper, containing many deletions, additions and corrections, as well as a type-written draft. The second and third draft are typed, some with numerous insertions on yellow legal paper, running several pages in length. These drafts also contain many deletions, additions, and corrections. The fourth and final draft of the book was submitted to the publisher.
